Jersey Shore's "Situation" faces business litigation

Business transactions should never be entered into lightly whether they occur in Atlanta or elsewhere in the state. There are many steps and procedures to take to make sure any agreements that are made will be beneficial for the business. It is also important to make sure that the other party holds up to their end of the bargain.

Believe it or not, despite fame and fortune, business litigation can strike at the most inopportune times. Georgia residents that enjoy tuning in to the television series The Jersey Shore may be interested to learn that Mike ""The Situation" Sorrentino had a lawsuit waiting for him when he finished filming season five.

Reportedly, Dilligaf, USA Inc. had an exclusive clothing deal with The Situation but states that he failed to honor their agreement. The clothing company alleges that "The Sitch" neglected to make appearances for marketing purposes and also signed agreements with competing companies. Now, he has been served with a lawsuit demanding more than $15,000 in damages.

The business litigation documents confirm that the agreement between the company and the reality TV star was considered a "Joint Marketing and Sales Agreement." In the agreement, Sorrentino was directed to endorse joint Dilligaf-Sorrentino products. The agreement also stated that "The Situation" (a now trademarked name) would refrain from entering agreements with Dilligaf competitors.

Despite the serious nature of the allegations, Mike Sorrentino does not seem to be approaching the lawsuit with the seriousness it deserves, as illustrated by his recent flippant response to reporters. Nonetheless, Sorrentino will likely require the services of legal counsel as business litigation continues.

Companies and individuals in Georgia may be able to relate to this type of "situation." Thanks to the current economy, the business world is dog-eat-dog. Parties who don't uphold their end of an agreement should expect to face consequences. Qualified attorneys who specialize in business and commercial law can help business owners try to recover for their losses and protect their companies interests.
